The 12th Annual USAGEM Awards Show was held on Saturday November 21, 2015 at the Texas Troubadour Theatre in Nashville, Tennessee. Rene’ Jones was the big award winner of the evening, garnering a total of 7 awards: Male Vocalist of the Year; Duo of the Year with his wife, Edie; Song of the Year for “Thank God For Mama”, a single he recorded with Joanne Cash that was written by gospel music legend, Joel Hemphill. “Thank God For Mama” also won Video of the Year. And Rene’ garnered his biggest accolade yet--Gospel Entertainer of the Year Award. Rene’ sings with a group from Nashville Cowboy Church called “Mending Fences”, and they won the Southern Gospel Crown Jewel Award and Group of the Year Award.


NEW MUSIC: Rene' released his new EP (a 4-song CD) entitled "Cold In The Ground" on Friday, September 12, 2014. The new 4 song CD is now available for purchase through the website for $7 each (includes shipping and handling), CLICK HERE to order. The title cut, "Cold In The Ground" has been on the charts for over a year and made it to #4 on the Christian Country charts. The song was written by Bill Wolfenbarger and Chuck Campbell, writers of numerous hit songs, several of which Rene' has recorded ("Neon Lights of Vegas", "No Place Like Home", "My First Thousand Years"). The EP also includes his newly released single "Thank God For Mama", the song to his latest video. Joanne Cash is featured on the single as well as in the video. The song was written by Joel Hemphill, world renowned songwriter of songs such as "Consider The Lilies", "Master of the Wind" and a multitude of other hits. The other two songs are "Better Man" and "Will You Marry Me", both of which will have you reaching for your tissues. "Better Man" was written by Gerald Smith, writer of hits like "What Part Of No Don't You Understand", "The Lone Ranger", and many others. Gerald was the Georgia Quacker on the Hee Haw Show. "Will You Marry Me" was written by Wyman Asbill who has written numerous hits such as "The Old Man No One Loves" by George Jones (check out the video to this song, too) and on the Gospel side, he wrote Rene's first #1 hit song, "Rockin' On The Front Porch (with my Jesus)". Rene' is honored to have been able to record songs by these famous songwriters.With all this songwriting talent, this is one CD you will want to own.


On Saturday, August 9, 2014 Rene' was blessed to be awarded the 2014 Male Horizon Award from the International Country Gospel Music Association at the 58th Annual Gold Cross Awards Show held in West Plains, Missouri.


Rene' has been blessed with 5 more nominations! He has two nominations from the Artists Music Guild: 2014 Male Vocalist of the Year and 2014 Song of the Year (Cold In The Ground). And he has 3 nominations from the U.S. Assoc. of Gospel Entertainers & Musicians: 2014 Song of the Year (Thank God For Mama), 2014 Video of the Year (Thank God For Mama) and 2014 Video of the Year (Bible By Her Bed).


Rene' is kicking off this year's list of nominations with a total of five from the International Country Gospel Music Association: Male Horizon Award, Male Vocalist of the Year Award, Song of the Year Award (Thank God For Mama), Video of the Year Award (Thank God For Mama), and Duo of the Year Award with his wife, Edie. The ICGMA Awards will be held on Saturday, August 9 in West Plains, Missouri.


On Saturday, November 16, 2013, the U.S. Association of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians Awards Ceremony was held at Christ Church's Wallace Chapel. Rene' was the favored winner of the evening bringing home a total of 3 awards: Male Vocalist of the Year, Christian Country Crown Jewel Award, and a new one for him this year: Duo of the Year Award with his wife, Edie.


On August 20-22, 2013, Rene' and Edie's award-winning video Bible By Her Bed debuted on Nashville Country Revival. NCR is a music-themed TV show hosted by Bill Traylor of Mansion Entertainment and features major Christian, Country, and Bluegrass Artists. This weekend artists included Marty Raybon, John Mathis, Jr., Heaven's Mountain Bank, Rene' Jones, and The Isaacs. NCR airs each week on The Nashville Network (TNN) on Sundays at 7:30 a.m. CST and on Daystar Fridays @ 9:00 p.m. CST and Saturdays at 3:30 p.m. CST. What a blessing and an honor to be among these artists!


Rene' has been blessed with an additional 6 award nominations for 2013, the Male Horizon Award and the Duo of the Year Award from the International Country Gospel Music Association, and the following four from the U.S. Assoc. of Gospel Entertainers & Musicians: Male Vocalist of the Year, Christian Country Crown Jewel Award, Duo of the Year with his wife, Edie, and the coveted Gospel Entertainer of the Year Award.


Rene' has been officially entered into the prestigious 2013 Artists Music Guild ballots for Favorite Male Vocalist of the Year, Favorite Song of the Year, Favorite Album of the Year, and Video of the Year. The Heritage Awards Show will be hosted by Chubby Checker and will be held on Saturday, November 9 at the Historic Heritage USA, Fort Mill, South Carolina.


On Saturday, November 17, 2012, Rene' was once again blessed to be awarded the Male Vocalist of the Year Award and the prestigious Christian Country Crown Jewel Award at the U.S. Assoc. of Gospel Entertainers & Musicians Awards Show held at Wallace Chapel of Christ Church in Nashville. The United States Association of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians announced the Top 5 nominees for the 2012 awards, and Rene' has been nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year (Bible By Her Bed), and Christian Country Crown Jewel Award. The awards show will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Christ Church, Wallace Chapel, Nashville, Tennessee.


The 8th Annual USAGEM Awards Show was broadcast in its entirety on RURAL-TV Network (Dish Network Channel 232) at 8:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Rene' won the Male Vocalist of the Year Award, and he and Edie performed their current single Bible By Her Bed during the Awards Show.


On Saturday, August 4, 2012, Rene' was awarded the Video of the Year Award by the International Country Gospel Music Association at the 56th Annual Gold Cross Awards Show held at the Civic Center in West Plains, Missouri. Rene' was also nominated for Male Horizon Award.


On Friday, July 20, 2012, the International Country Gospel Music Association released the top 5 nominees for this year's Gold Cross Awards Show, and we are pleased to announce that Rene' has been nominated for the Male Horizon Award, and the video for Bible By Her Bed has been nominated for Video of the Year. The awards show will be held on Saturday, August 4 at The Civic Center Auditorium in West Plains, Missouri.


On Saturday, July 14, 2012, Rene' and Edie were honored to be among the first performers for the new tv and radio program "LIVE From The Princess". This program is hosted by entertainer Angel Nash and includes a personal glimpse of the artists themselves in addition to featuring their music. The program is broadcast on BBB Communications Channel 12, Comcast, and also WKVL Radio 850 a.m. and 105.3 FM.


On Saturday, November 19, 2011, Rene' won the Male Vocalist of the Year Award at the U.S. Association of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians Award Show which was held at the Texas Troubadour Theater in Nashville. The show was filmed for future television broadcast. Rene' also won this award in 2007 and 2009.

The song was written by Ann Hartmann, and the video was produced by Aaron Thomas, son of David and Diana Thomas of Fresh Well Media (Gospel Music Television, Family Friendly Entertainment Network). Filming was done in and around Lynnville, Tennessee and features a special guest appearance from JD Hart (former RCA recording artist/Actor/TV Spokesperson/Voice-Over Artist.


On Monday, August 15, 2011, the United States Association of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians announced the Top 5 nominees for the 2011 Awards, and Rene' has been nominated for the Male Vocalist of the Year Award. The Awards Show will be held Saturday, November 19 at 3:00 p.m. at the Texas Troubadour Theater, Music Valley Drive, Nashville, Tennessee.

On March 1, 2011, it was announced that Rene' was one of the Top 5 nominees for Favorite Male Vocalist in the upcoming Country Gospel Music Fan Awards to be held April 30, 2011 at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.


Rene' and Edie are tremendously blessed to be among the featured performers during the 32nd Annual Sunday Mornin' Country concert held at the newly renovated Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee on Sunday, June 12, 2011, This year's show will be a tribute to some of the greatest Hall of Fame Country Legends.


On January 17, 2011, it was announced that Rene' and Edie have been nominated in the Top 5 for Duo of the Year at the upcoming Agape Fest Fan Appreciation Awards to be held June 25, 2011 in Granbury, Texas.


On July 16, 2010, Rene' was nominated for Male Horizon Award in the 54th annual International Country Gospel Music Association Awards Show held in West Plains, Missouri.


On October 29th, 2010, Rene' and Edie were special guests at another TV taping for TCT Network which aired on the TCT Today Show during the week of Thanksgiving. It will also be aired several times during 2011.


On November 13, 2010, Rene' won the coveted Christian Country Crown Jewel Award from the U.S. Assoc. of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians. The awards show was held at the Texas Troubadour Theater in Nashville and was filmed for future television broadcast. 


On Saturday, November 20, 2009, at the U.S. Assoc. of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians' Award Show, Rene' was the recipient of the 2009 Male Vocalist of the Year Award and the Christian Country Crown Jewel Award. The Awards Show was filmed for future television broadcasts. Dates and times will be posted on the website as soon as they are available.


On Monday, August 10, 2009, the United States Assoc. of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians announced the top 5 nominees for the 2009 Awards, and Rene' has been nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, Soloist of the Year, and Crown Jewel Award for Christian Country Artist.


Rene's latest radio release, "Rockin' On The Front Porch" has charted at #1 on the Christian Country Gospel chart for January, 2009. Congratulations to Rene' for his first #1 song and congratulations to the writer, Wyman Asbill, for writing this hit song.


Rene' and Edie have been honored by a request to appear as special guests on the TCT Network show Rejoice! on February 13, 2009. TCT is viewed world wide on DirecTV, Channel 377 and via internet at tct.tv.


On December 28, 2008, Rene' and Edie were guest performers in a television taping with "Touching The World Ministries" which will be aired on WZTV Fox 17, News Channel 5, and Ion. Times to be announced. This can also be viewed via internet at DeWittJohnson.org.


On November 20, 2008, Rene' was named as the Soloist of the Year by the United States Association of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians. In addition to that honor, Rene' was also nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Crown Jewel Award for Christian Country.

On Sunday, June 8, 2008, Rene and Edie had the pleasure of performing at the famous Ryman Auditorium in Nashville for Sunday Mornin Country during the CMA music Festival (Fan Fair). They were part of the Country Chorale, the choir which backed Linda Davis, Billy Dean, Aaron and Thea Tippin, Ricky Skaggs and The Whites, Margo Smith/Holly Watson, and other artists.


On Monday, August 9, 2008, the U.S. Assoc. of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians announced their Top 10 nominees for this year's awards to be held on Saturday, November 13. Rene' has garnered 4 nominations this year: Male Vocalist of the Year, Soloist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Artist of the Year.


Rene' was requested by LifeWay Christian Resources to sing the #1 hit song "Touch Of The Master's Hand" as a special treat and surprise for the writer, John Kramp, who was coming to speak at the Chapel Service at LifeWay on October 11, 2007.

On December 15, 2007, Rene' was named as the Male Vocalist of the Year by the United States Association of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians. In addition to that honor, Rene was also nominated for Song of the Year and Artist of the Year.


On Monday, September 17, 2007, the USAGEM (United States Association of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians) announced their nominees for the 2007 Awards, and Rene' has been nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, Artist of the Year,  Song of the Year (I Know Him By Heart), and Crown Jewel Award for Christian Country. In addition, The Country Gospel music Guild has announced their nominees for the 2007 Golden Harp Awards, and Rene' has been nominated for Male Horizon Artist of the Year.


Rene’ has been receiving cards and letters about his CD. Some of the comments are:

a.)    “I just had to tell you that your music is so heartfelt. I have not stopped listening to the CD since I got it. Your music makes me feel like I will be okay no matter what goes on in this world.”

b.)    “Your music makes me feel so warm in my heart. You have a beautiful voice, and I can tell you sing from the heart!”

c.)    “My day started off awful first thing this morning, and all I could do was cry. I didn’t even want to go to work today. I got in the car, put in your CD; and by the time I got to work, I had quit crying. I don’t know what it is, but you have a voice like no other to sing those songs. I’m glad I have it to listen to because it helps me get through the days.”

d.)    “Rene’, you need to be working on another CD—I’m about to wear this one out! It gets played at least once every single day. You have one incredible voice.”

e.)    “That is the most beautiful version to “Sweet Hour of Prayer” that I have ever heard.”

f.)      “The entire CD is awesome! and you have a truly incredible voice. I love every single song on the CD, but “Down On My Knees” is the bomb!!!”

g.)    One of the songwriters wrote, “You have honored me with a wonderful rendition of my song, and I am very excited at the energy you put into the recording. It made me proud.”

h.)    A listener that heard Rene’s current radio single, “Living Proof” wrote, “I wanted you to know how much I am enjoying your voice on “Living Proof”. You have definitely got to keep singing.”
